A great state meet was hosted at Victory Gymnastics. For results click here, or go to the Meet Results page. Oklahoma qualified 77 boys to the Region 3 Championships, in Galveston, TX, April 8-10. For more information, go to the www.region3men.org This year, the state is buying all the qualifiers a t-shirt with the USA Gymnastics Logo and Oklahoma on it. The coaches will also be getting coaching shirts for the meet. We also voted to give all the athletes that make nationals a nice USA Gymnastics Oklahoma Backpack.
The new rules will be out after nationals, for the next 4 years. We will have a state clinic this summer, with the dates to be determined.
Meets set for next year are:
BCGA Winter Invite- all levels December 2, 3, 2016-Norman
Bart Conner Invitational- February 10, 11, 2017- Cox Convention Center-OKC
March 10,11- State Meet- Bart Conner Gymnastics- Norman
If you have a date you would like to get on the schedule, please let me know.
Oklahoma State Chairman
Again, congratulations on a great state meet and qualifying so many boys to regionals. It is the most we have qualified in a long time and I'm sure it will only grow, with some of the new gyms. We also had a number of different gyms win titles, which is a testament to the level of coaching in our state at many different gyms.
Brandon has contacted Sergey from, WOGA, and he is going to do our clinic on July 25. The clinic will be at our gym. The clinic will be $30.00 per boy. It will be geared towards Level 4,5 & 6 & 7 boys. I am thinking of asking him to come in on Friday and run a clinic for our higher level boys- maybe 3 hours or so, or Sunday morning. Let me know what you think. If not, we will just bring him up for the compulsory gymnasts. This is great, as he is a fantastic clinician!- Thanks Brandon!
Any gym that brings 10 or more boys to the clinic, will receive $250.00 towards sending their coach to the national clinic in Colorado Springs, at the Olympic Training Center. This is held in conjunction with Future Stars National Testing. This is a great clinic for all coaches to learn basics and see great junior level gymnastics.
At Regionals, make sure you have your entry form and check ready to pay for nationals. The entry fee is $165.00 per boy. The state will pay $65.00 per boy. Your check should be made to Region 3 Men's, then Bo will send in one check with the entry forms. You should pay $100.00 per boy. I will then send the region the $65.00 per boy.
Current meet dates that I have for next season are:
December 5- BCGA - All levels
January 9- 2016 - Dynamo-4-7
January 23,24- Victory
January 29-31- Bounce
February 12 & 13- Bart Conner - Cox Convention Center
State Meet- Victory- March 13
I also want to encourage our Level 10 gymnasts to shadow judge next year. We can do it with some of the lower levels. We can discuss this more at the clinic. We will figure out how much to pay them and what else we need to do to make them prepared. I am also looking at doing another clinic for new gyms or class/rec programs sometime in the summer too!
Let me know if you have any other input. Don't forget to go watch men's NCAA's. There is a link for discount tickets on our web page for regionals, on the Bart Conner site.
Good luck to all gymnasts at Regionals!-
A big thank you to Oklahoma Gold, Steve Hoehner and Neptali Narvaez for making their gym available for the State Clinic. We had 60 boys attend! Thanks to all the coaches- Neptali Narvaez, Colin Payne, BJ Megginson, Pablo Narvaez, Shane McCabe, Brandon Cottle, Ryan Etherton and Blake McSparrin. All the gymnasts had a great time.
This mission of this page site is to update members on results, rule changes and other items affecting the men's USAG junior program in Oklahoma. We will post things on all these pages and update them as needed. If you have something you would like to have added to our site, please contact the state chairman - Ben Fox at email@example.com.
Congratulations to Oklahoma Gold's Jeffrey Walraven and Dalton Farmer, and Bart Conner Gymnastics Zach Treadway, Jordan Kovach, Nick Bishop, Connor Gibson and Cade Muldrow for qualifying to JO Nationals. Cade Muldrow finished 6th on Hi-bar in the Level 9 JE division, and Jordan Kovach finished 4th on vault and 10th in the All-around in the Level 10, 15-16 JE division. Congratulations to all our qualifiers!
